GMO Labeling - How Did Your Senator Vote?

The US Senate voted on Friday AGAINST the labeling of GMO's. The vote was 73-26.

Just after this bill was halted by our Senators, the animal and plant kingdoms chimed in to make their voices heard. First, it was reported on Friday that GMO modified corm, designed to protect itself from the western corn rootworm by creating a toxic protein, is now being devoured and destroyed by the very same insects it is meant to poison. (see Natural News)

And, in Austin Texas, KEYE TV reported on Saturday, one day after the GMO vote, that GMO grass started emitting cyanide gas and killed a herd of 15 cattle. Other nearby farmers growing this grass, Tifton 85, have found high levels of cyanide in their fields.(See news story) Scientists at the USDA are trying to determine the cause of the mutation (some think it may be the drought)

This story is incredibly sad and scary. In the US, 80% of all our processed food now contains GMOs! However, the animals and plants may have lovingly united here to provide us with an opportunity. They have just created a forum to end GMO's.

First, find out how your Senator voted here If they voted for GMO labeling, contact them, THANK THEM, and let them know their decision was correct - tell them about these most recent plant and animal cases. Share the links.

If your Senator voted against GMO labeling, inform him/her about the corn and the cows and that you WILL NOT be voting for them in November. Let's honor these animals by mobilizing our fellow citizens to facilitate change. NOW. We can recycle Congress and the Senate this fall.

Also inform your Senator that India, the largest country in the world, has mandated the labeling of GMO foods beginning January 2013. And Germany flat out banned GMO corn years ago!

Please share these stories with everyone you know, and inform them about the dangers of GMO's. Some good resources may be found here:

  1. Very interesting about the response from nature....clearly we need the earth and it's non-human inhabitants much more than it/they need us! Thanks for this thoughtful and hopeful
    take on the situation.
